　　ADSL（Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Loop 非对称数字用户线环路）是xDSL家族成员中的一员，它以普通电话线和3类／5类线等铜质双绞线作为传输媒质。由于它采用了全新的数字调制解调技术，因而可以传送比Modem和ISDN带宽高得多的宽带技术，是网络时代的 “世纪宠儿”。

　　ADSL使用普通电话线即可实现宽带服务。只需在普通直线电话两端安装相应的ADSL终端设备就可享受宽带技术，原有电话线路无须改造，安装便捷，使用简便，避免用户因线路改造而引起的布线困难和破坏室内装修等诸多问题的困扰。

　　安装使用ADSL后，原有的电话服务没有任何改变，用户的电话号码和服务性能与原来完全一样。而且可以在一根电话线上同时上网和打电话，两者互不干扰。

　　ADSL的带宽上行可达1Mb／s，下行更高达8Mb／s，充分满足了目前所有的宽带业务对带宽的要求。ADSL的双向速率不对称性，完全符合用户使用互联网的业务特性———“下载的多，上传的少”，非常适合高速上网和视频服务等宽带业务应用。但由于上行速率的限制，所以ADSL不适合于IMb／s速率的双向对称的点对点高速数据传送应用。

　　ADSL的网络呈星型结构，用户的线路和带宽都是独享的，不会出现因为与他人共享线路和带宽而必然引起的速率受并发用户数影响的情况。用户的速率和带宽基本保持不变，特别适合需要恒定速率和带宽的业务应用，例如高速数据下载和视频服务等。而且，由于线路和带宽的独享特性，ADSL用户间的信息是互相隔离的，用户有完全的安全性保证。

　　ADSL的信息传送是以ATM信元作为载体的，而且ADSL局端设备上联ATM骨干网，所以ADSL可以充分利用ATM技术完善的品质保证机制，使ADSL用户的信息传送品质可以达到最高的电信等级。

　　ADSL线路是“一户一线”，ADSL设备也是“一户一套”，所以每个用户不会因为他人的线路、设备故障而产生通信干扰。由于不存在共用线路或设备，所以ADSL的故障影响范围是最小的。还有，ADSL线路上没有任何有源或无源设备（例如放大器、分配器等），所以ADSL 的故障发生率也是最低的。

　　ADSL传输距离可达3-5公里，根据现在电话网的状况，98%的用户均能享用ADSL为您带来的高质量的网络服务。
