分析:首先分析句子结构,句子的主干是The bell____the end of the period rang,而在这个主干中"____the end of the period"是一个后置定语,用来修饰the bell,由于主干的谓语是rang,所以空格处只能填个非谓语动词,有两个选择,indicating或者indicated,这时要看the bell和the end of the period的逻辑关系,这里不难看出两者逻辑上是主动关系,因此用indicating.给你举个逻辑关系是被动的The cake eaten by us was bad.被我们吃掉的那个蛋糕是坏了的.这里the cake和us就是逻辑上的被动关系,所以要用eaten而不用eating.因为一个句子只能有一个谓语,本句中主干里的rang就是这个谓语,所以后面所有的成分中都不能出现谓语,只能是非谓语动词形式的词,可以是动词的ing形式和被动形式.这里选interrupted还是interrupting分析方法是一样的,因为是逻辑上的主动关系,所以用ing形式.
