Submission Requirements
Once the turnover report (submission file) has been created, it must be sent to the VPIS
Server over the Internet. There are three options available:
Method 1 - FTP Submission
1. Submission file will be transmitted to the VPIS Server via passive-mode FTP/S.
Since data transport is over passive FTPS, all connections are initiated outbound
from the Retailer’s subnet. There are no inbound connections created.
2. Initial FTPS contact should be made over port 990.
3. Retailer must login using a special FTP account and password that will be provided
by Mall Management. This is different to the Retailer’s Account Name and Account
Password to be used in the submission file.
4. The FTPS Server is configured such that no file retrieval is possible. It is a one way
process in order to ensure that a data file, once submitted, belongs exclusively to the
VPIS system.
5. File transfers must be named: <AccountName>.<BusinessDate>.rpt, where Account
Name and Business Date are defined in the Data Format specification above.
6. Files must be uploaded directly to the incoming folder on the FTP server. Only .rpt
files will be accepted.
