故事情节：人类可以控制基因，从而优化，生出没有缺陷的孩子。但是主角很不幸只是一个缺陷儿（以今天的标准来看是个健康人），所以他不得飞向太空（也好像是火星）。所以他找了一个优化了的残疾人（太讽刺了），给了他假的身份，经过重重困难（增高，验血等等），最终登上了飞船。记得给了他身份的那个人最后在焚化箱里自杀了。
