1.Body language is used by people for sending messages to one another. It is very useful because it can help you make yourself easily understood. When you are talking with others, you are not just using words, but also using expressions and gestures. For example, waving one’ s hand is to say "Good bye." A smile and handshake show we[collie, and clapping hands means congratulations. Nodding the head means agree ment, but shaking the head means disagreement. The gestures are accepted both by Chinese and foreigners as having the sallie meanings. Different countries have different body language. For example, men in Russia, France and Arab countries kiss each other when they meet, but men in China or Australia shake hands instead of kissing. People in Puerto Rio like touching each other, but people from English speaking countries do not touth each other. If you touch an English person, you should say "Sorry." People in Arab countries like standing close to one another when they are talking, but English people must keep a distance away when they are talking. In some Asian countries, you must not touch the head of another person. In Arab countries, you eat using the fingers of your right land; the left hand is not used at all. In parts of Asia you must not sit with your feet pointing at another person.
When you use a foreign language, it is very important to know the meanings of gestures and movements in the foreign country. Following the customs will help you communicate with people and make your stay there much more pleasant and comfor table.

2.Spring is tht best season of the year. The weather gets warmer and warmer. My clas i'amates and I took a one-day sightseeing around our city.The scene was pretty. But when we saw the rivers along our city, I felt very sorry, and thoughit a lot.

With the development of modern agriculture and industry, more and more waste water is being poured into rivers. It has caused serious pollution. The river is becoming so dirty that no living things can live in it. The river is giving off a terrible smell.

We make an urgent appeal that measures should be taken to cope with the situation. Our government should start building various facilities such as sewage treatment!plant and encourage scientists to work out more and better ways to reduce the pollution of water.

Water is tho source of our lives. It is very important to protect water.

春天是一年中最好的季节，天气变得越来越暖和。我和我的同学们进行了一次环城一日游，所到之处景色宜人。但当我看到沿着城区流过的河流时，我感到很惋惜，想了很多。

随着现代工农业的发展，越来越多的污水排进河里，河水被严重污染。河水变得如此的肮脏以致于生物不能在里面生活。河水发出难闻的气味。

我们急切呼吁采取措施改变这种状况。政府应当建立各种设备，例如污水处理厂，并且鼓励科学家们想出更多更好的办法以减少水污染。

水是生命之源，保护水资源十分重要。

3.A Touching Event
Yesterday afternoon I went to the Yuexiu Park. It happened that I saw a touching event. At that time, some people were boating on the lake. Among them was perhaps a happy family. They were taking photos when suddenly the girl fell off the boat into the water. She was struggling and her parents cried out, "Help!Help !" It was obvious that they could not swim at all. From nearby a young man immediately rushed to the lake. Without taking off his clothes, he jumped into the water and quickly swam towards the girl l who was already tired out. At last he carried her to the lake side. She was saved!
How happy the parents were! Before they thought of thanking the Young man, he had disappeared!

4.Everyone needs a friend, because enjoying the friendship is great. When you are alone, you will feel lonely. That can make a person not happy. Then the person will not want to talk with other people. So we shall have a friend.

Having a friend is the beginning . At first, we must be kind to our friends. When your friend is ill at school, you should take care of him or her. When your friend feels sad, you should feel the same with him or her. When your friend doesn’t know the answer to a question, you should tell him or her, and help each other.

Catch every chance to make your friend and you will be a pair of good friends.
