Alishan National Scenic Area is in the northeast of Jiayi province on Taiwan Island.
The story of Alishan originates from an ancient story. A young man named Abali often went into the mountain hunting alone and brought back much food. Later in his life, he guided many people to the mountain that led them to the rich sources of living supports. After he passed away, people named it Alishan to remember his contribution to them.
Much of this beautiful mountainous area is thick forest with a large variety of plantation and birds. So it’s a good place for bird watching. People either come to see its unique plants, animals and huge trees or to walk in the mountains and breathe its fresh air. Visiting Alisan,you must make sure to capture the five wonders.
