Nanjing Police Station Dog Shelter is located in the northwest corner of Shifou Monastery Farm, Pukou District Police Station, Nanjing City. The shelter is situated on 2.66 hectares of land. According to <Nanjing City Dog Breeding Management Policy>, the dog shelter is used to house stray dogs and illegal dogs. The design was done in December 2006, and the shelter became operational in August 2007. The total built-up area is approximately 2,600 sqm, divided in four different zones of Office Zone, Vaccination Zone, Shelter Zone and Vaccination & Quarantine Zone. The daily maximum capacity for dogs is 1,200.
