The Department of Industrial Design,founded in 1988,makes the Shenyang Institute of Aerinautical Engineering one of the first colleges in China to establish a degree in Industrial Design.As a member of CIDA,this Department offers mechanical design courses, and since 2002,it has been authorized to grant a Master's degree for Industrial Design.
Based on our pedagogical experience in the practice of scientific technical research,we have developed an extensive series of activities in Product Design,CAD/CAM,Visual Communication Design and Display Design.Over the last 13 years,our almuni have occupied key postitions in well-known design companies and illustrious enterprises such as Haier,Media,FAW,FIYTA and UTSTAR, as well as institutes of higher education such as Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology,Dalian Institute of Light Industrial, and the Shanghai Fine Arts Institute.
Our teaching staff is excellent,and many of them have studied abroad.Our program was developed from our own resources, and to a certain extentm our professors have participated in the important strategy of combining practical teaching with theoretical learning.
Both Industrial Design Technology Service Centers of the Liaoning Province Economic and Trade Commissions and Shenyang City Technology Commissions are an integral part of our department.These two centers have allowed a direct connection to the lastest technology, and established a scientific research base in coordination design technology in the city.
We help to serve both large-scale and multi-dimensional machine manufacturing products, and provide prominent Industrial Design talent to the Liaoning industrial base to help to establish correct design philosophy and values within Liaoning's traditional industries. This includes the rapid design of models and prototypes, the ability for reverse engineering and the acquisition of current market information.
Since we have previously engaged our services for various enterprises in Liaoning Province,we plan to use this experience as the start for future projects, expanding our service into a full-service unit.
The Industrial Design major aims to cultivate specialized students and give them a firm knowledge of mechanical design, a perceptive sensibility for product form,and a solid foundation in design aesthetics. Students have the opportunity to learn theory and apply this knowledge in series of practical design projects. Upon graduation ,students are then prepared to work for organizations or companies in product development,product design , frame design and design management.
The Fashion Design and Engineering major aims to cultivate and train students in the design of apparel, frame and craft, and fashion management. Once graduated, students can conduct and operate in the following fields production, marketing,fashion design,research,administration,and publication.
