cost可用于表示花时间和金钱，主语是事物。如：

A new apartment costs a lot of money. 买一间新房子要花一大笔钱。
The second-hand computer cost me 1,000 yuan. 这部二手电脑花了我一千块。

take可用于表示花时间,主语常为形式主语it，后面常跟双宾语.
It takes sb. ＋时间＋to do sth. 做某事花了某人多少时间。
It took them ten years to finish the project. 他们用了十年时间才完成这项工程。
It took him the whole afternoon repairing the car. 他花了一整下午来修车。

spend 可用于表示花时间和金钱，主语必须是人。 常见结构有：
(1) sb. spend time／money on sth. 在……上花费时间/金钱。
Girls always spend most of their money on clothes.女孩子通常都把大部分钱花在衣服上了。
(2) spend time／ money (in) doing sth. 花费时间/金钱做某事。

pay可用于表示花费金钱，主语是人。

I have to pay for the bike lost. 我得赔偿丢失的自行车。
