The closing speeches of Chinese bridge summer camp
Dear students and teachers:
Hello ,everyone! It’s my great honor to have you all here in the High School Attached to Northeast Normal University, Jingyue Campus. On behalf of the Jilin provincial Education Department and Jilin Haban, I would liked to extend a warm welcome to all our American guests and formally thank all of you that made this event possible.
In the fresh and beautiful in July, in this fruitful and full of harvest season , Students with glory and dream, with a proud and pleased ,together to together to this one of the most prestigious universities in China with its outstanding performance in experience, demonstration, and exemplariness.----The High School Attached to Northeast Normal University. With 63 years’ history, High School Attached to Northeast Normal University is operated directly under the Minister of Education. Clinging to the spirit characterized by “Adhere to vision, pursue excellence, stimulate innovation, encourage diversity”.
Now, please let me introduce Jilin briefly. Jilin province , hereinafter referred to as "ji", which provincial capital is Changchun city ,is located in 122-131 degrees east longitude, 41-46 degrees north latitude, covering an area of 18.74 square kilometers, which constitutes 2 percent of the whole country. Jilin province is located in the middle of northeast of China and also situated in the geometric center of northeast Asia consisting of Japan, Russia, North Korea, South Korea, Mongolia and northeast of China. Heilongjiang is on its north, Liaoning province on the south, west is adjacent to Inner Mongolia autonomous region, bordering Russia on the east. In southeast of Jilin, it is bounded to the Tumen River and the Yalu River. Jilin province is a multi-ethnic border province. There are 48 minorities. The minorities and the Han people's united to explore the Jilin province territory and create the history and culture of Jilin province together. Korean is the most populous ethnic minority in Jilin province, living in the most concentrated area of Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture and the Changbai Korean autonomous county, where they live is "the hometown of rice" in North China. The gathering area for Korean is famous for the great reputation as it is renowned for its singing and dancing and it is also home to football all over the world. Korean is predominantly good at singing and dancing. The girls love to swing, and the young men like wrestling together in pairs, just like the wrestling tigers. Manchu is the second populous ethnic minority in Jilin province, mainly living in YiTong manchu autonomous county. In order to adapt to the mountains and the beautiful snow living environment, traditional Manchu’s main traffic tools are the carriage, sledge, canoe and birch-bark boat, etc. The sledge (Manchu call it la) is the snow transportation.
Mongolian Nationality is the third minority in quantity in Jilin Province. Mongolians mainly live in Mongolian Autonomous County of Qian Gorlos. Hui is the fourth largest minority in our province. Rice and noodles are their staple food.. They have so many taboos in carnivorous aspects, like fasting pork, dog and donkey. Pigeon is considered as holy bird in some minority areas. People can feed them but not allowed to eat.
If you want to know more about Jilin ,you can go to the Shaman culture research center, which established in June 2004, is a research institution of Changchun University, affiliated with the Shaman Arts Council of China Folk Artist Association. It is one of the key research bases in the Jilin Five-year Development Program in the field of social and science. The center has 6 institutions, including Shaman Culture Museum, Shaman Culture Laboratories studying on Chen and Han Military Chesses, Shaman Oracles and Audio-visual Resources room, etc.
There also some Scenic spots around here. For example, Changchun World Sculpture Park, which locates in the south of Renmin Street, a main street of Changchun, covers about 92 hectares. It is a theme park which integrates contemporary sculpture arts and the different genres of world sculpture arts .The Changchun Confucius Temple, built in 1872, is also known as Wenmiao Temple. It is built for commemorating Confucius as one of the greatest thinker and educator in Chinese history. And the Jingyuetan National Forest Park is located southeast of Changchun city , about 12 kilometers away to the center. Visitors can enjoy clearness of the lake, handsomeness of the trees, and grandness of the mountains in this very park. With around 100 square kilometers forests and 430 hectares pool area, the park is regarded as the largest park of Asia.
Well,The main content of this camp is to introduce Han Nation、Manchu Nation、Hui Nation、Monglia Nation、Korean Nation ,and the activity theme is to "find the folk art of China -Tianjin, Hunan; find the folk customs of China-- Yunnan province, Jilin; find the history of China-- Shandong, Zhejiang; find the kung fu of China - Henan" Through this period of time short learning and communication ,I believe that students have learned a lot about Chinese culture and the humanities. Especially in Jilin, I believe that everyone has had the deep affection. We carried out the “Romantic Charm of Changbai Mountain in Jilin Province activities. The musical drama named <Romantic Charm of Changbai Mountain> performed and composed by Jilin Provincial Song and Dance Troupe. The drama shows Jilin Province as a land of massive resources and magical power, characterized by snowy and multiracial Jilin. After enjoy dramatic, magical, high-tech sights, camp members have a general impression of Jilin Province . We have the honor to invite the professors from jilin university and northeast normal university who are in the field of Chinese language and culture, history, and pedagogy to give the lectures about the five nations., there are Gao Changshan, high Cao Sheng, Mr. Chen and professor Huang Jigong .
After that, under the guidance of the provincial department of education and the leadership of the affiliated high school of northeast normal university, the students from Middle School Attached to Northeast Normal University perform the main customs of the five nations for the summer camp activities, it is the learning performance after the lecture teaching.。Next , we arrange the students to Sa-Manchu Culture Reach Center of Changchun Normal University for experience Manchu culture; to Hui Nation Cultural Street for experience Hui culture; to Changbai Mountain by train for experience Han Nation and Mongolia Nation culture; to Folk Customs Village in Yanji for Korean Nation culture. To give students a deeper understanding of Chinese culture, we also arrange “One Day Chinese Family Visit” on 14th July. Student can join in a Chinese family to experience the real daily lives of Chinese .We also plan many interaction activities like Sports meeting, outdoor visiting, self-guided tour, dumpling-making, and farewell party to strengthen the friendship between American and Chinese youths.
At last, we make a speech report at the theme of “The Impression of China and Jilin” ,which shows children's understanding of Chinese excellent national culture. And the camp is finally come to the end .Though we are going to separate, Our friendship will grow.
This is a harvest season, but we have to sow the seeds of hope; It is a fruitful season, but we have to create new fruit. Although summer camp time is short, but there is no limit to the number of our growth, our collective concept, team spirit, the will quality is benefit for your life,and our friendship is everlasting. Summer camp let us body workout ,spirit get distillation. The students, to participate in the summer camp activities is a growth of knowledge, , is a rare opportunity to sharpen the will and experience the collective life . Let everybody experience in practice effectively, is a good form to develop independent consciousness and to improve their own quality, at the same time also is a good stage to show themselves Summer camp is a stage full of challenge, also is a feast for the learning and communication. During this short a few days, have you been integrated into the life in China, have you fully experienced the Chinese rhythm. ?
China is in the development and China is in progress. Now, China has stood on the stage of the world with new attitude, sending out the shine and irreplaceable charm. But, The development of China still needs the world ,and Chinese people need the world to understand .Because ,China has changed a lot, Chinese people has changed a lot.Hope this summer camps with full success can inspire enthusiasm for Chinese as well as to the mysterious east. Beautiful China, will once again welcome your arrival, let this summer camp activities give you a deep and beautiful memories.
