China's Great Wall is known to the world as one of the seven great wonders of the world. It is located in North China. It is over 6000 kilometres in length and is 25 feet high in average. The ancient people started to built the wall in the 7th Century BC with earth,brick and stone, and joined it in the Qin Dynasty. The Great Wall was built in ancient China to keep out invaders, however, it is now regared as one of the most important tourist spots in our country or even in the whole world. Every year, it is visited by thousands of people from all over the world.

Shanghai, the largest city in East China, has an eclectic combination of architectural
styles, ranging from the Chinese style garden to 20th century brutalism and beyond. In the beginning of 20th century, Shanghai Waitan, an architectural style unique to
the city, was developed, and several examples have survived.
Buildings from most of the architectural periods of China
can be seen throughout Shanghai. Parts of the old downtown date back to 19th
century, as do some churches dating from the 19th century onwards. Outside the
historical city centre there are several large western
style mansions built for wealthy merchants. Old residential houses of the same
period survive, intermingled with areas of more recent development. As
the city grew, it merged with its surrounding villages, each with its own character and centre,
often clustered around a busy downtown area.
The construction on the banks of Huangpu provided a focus for industrial
development and the growth of the local transport infrastructure.
Key elements of which include LuJiazui Business centre and other residential
buildings in Pudong. The 21th century has seen further expansion of the city,
the growth of the Universities in Shanghai and the arrival
of the high technology industry. The redevelopment of shopping
centres, residential and office buildings, and the harbourside continues tothis day.
