This tube is then surrouded by many small aluminum fins .The aluminum draws heat readily from the warm cooling fluid inside the tube.Once the fins are heated air is directed across them releasing their heat into the air and cooling the engine .A radiator also has a neck that ends in a cap. This cap is called apressure cap.Once your overheats to a certain degree the fluid may expand exerting pressure on the entire system.The cap is manufactured in such a way that if the pressure reaches a predetermined level it will give way releasing the pressure of the system preventing a larger explosion.CAUTION never remove a hot radiator cap.
