1200 C for about 1.2 h. The temperature was then increased further.
The position of the big graphite crucible containing the B-N-O precur-
sor was adjusted to ensure that the B-N-O precursor was heated at
1600 C. The atmosphere was a N2/NH3 flow with the same rate as in
the first stage. After about an hour coaxial tubular single-crystalline
cubic-AlN nanotubes with a BN coating were obtained. The products
were examined on an X-ray diffractometer (RINT 2200HF) and a
high-resolution transmission field emission electron microscope
(HRTEM) (JEM-3000F) attached to an X-ray energy dispersive spec-
trometer (EDS).
