Today I want to discuss on CCTV Head Office Building being paid much attention in international architecture field recently. We are interested in it of course, for it locates in our city and its shape provides us with a brand new view. Then let’s discuss it from various aspects as follows.
The old CCTV Head Office Building was constructed in early 1980s of the last century, thus it has a history of more than 30 years to date. At the end of 1970s of the last century, China gradually step into the proper track after a list of destabilization，the old CCTV Head Office Building was constructed just at that time. Society of China at that time had not open-mindedness and breakout innovations at present, thus people at that time could not construct characteristic and charming buildings. CCTV building was in accordance with the main trend at that time for the limited thought scope of people.
The old CCTV Head Office Building was shaped in a totally square, now its shape seems somewhat old. At a first glance, it’s very common; no one will pay much attention to it except for four indicative large letters: CCTV. Ever increasing of architectures around it, various new-styled architectures conquered its original imagine. Just like above-mentioned, CCTV become the only indicative broadcasting station for the live broadcast of Olympic Games, thus we should firstly change its appearance. People will pay attention to it even the whole China only when its architectural becomes attractive. This is a great turning of new China.
The difference showed by the building is to construct a traditional skyscraper from humanity aspect. From a view of perspective drawing, new CCTV Head Office Building seems like a letter “U” in mirror writing with an angel at its right. The 54-flat slope building seems like a magic organism appeared in commercial zone with many standing buildings. As for the depressed sensation in mind caused by its irregular shape, architectural designers said it’s a comprehensive innovation to skyscraper: ” Our architecture shows its authority and charming, even it’s not tall compared to other skyscrapers, seems you can climb up it very easy.”
Drawing is a delicate working, you can never draw drawings if you can not relate drawing to mathematics.
